Living a hope & a future in Jesus Christ
UMWThe organization of The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. They seek to develop a creative, supportive fellowship for women of all ages. The UMW (as it is called) seeks to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the United Methodist Church.
A review of our year is as follows: Our first celebration of the year is January 31, 2010, UMW Sunday. We conduct the worship service on that day. Our guest speaker will be a Native American to tie in with our mission study during the summer, "Native American Survival." In February we have our "Call to Prayer and Self Denial" service, a very inspirational time and all women are invited. Our big fund raiser for missions is in the Spring, "Trinkets & Treasures." Our annual retreat is held the last week in April. During the months of June, July and August we have combined circle mission studies with covered dish meals. In September, we have a general meeting and in December we hold our Christmas celebration and installation of officers. In addition to these special times, we have four Circles that meet monthly, January through May and September through December.

UMW Sponsors Letters to Servicemen and Women
All members are encouraged to send Christmas cards or general cards to the servicemen and women on our prayer list that are in the U.S. military and serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can find the available addresses in the Prayers for our Military Binder in the narthex. Let's all join together to let these brave and loyal people know that we care about them and support them.
