2013 Mission Statement: Each One Reach One
Become a Member
St. Matthew's United Methodist Church is always excited to receive new members. Church membership is an important part of the Christian faith. It should be as current as everything else in your life. No reservations are needed to unite with St. Matthew's. We like to say, "The Light of Christ is always on!"
Members are received at the conclusion of any worship service by any of these methods:
Profession of Faith
If you have been never been baptized, you can be baptized in one of three ways--immersion, sprinkling, or pouring. Baptism is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. In our tradition, only one baptism is needed. If you were baptized as an infant or adult in any Christian tradition, we accept your baptism. If you were baptized and not confirmed, profession of faith is confirming your faith in the grace of Jesus Christ. Simple questions of faith are answered. The questions may be found in the United Methodist Hymnal.
Transfer from another United Methodist Church
If you are a member of another United Methodist Church, you may transfer your membership by requesting to do so. The church office will do all the paper work.
Transfer from another Christian Denomination
Your membership from another Christian denomination is accepted. You will simply be asked if you will support the United Methodist Church with your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service.
Any questions about joining? Feel free to email our pastor, email@example.com.
There is a membership information card available in the pew. Simply fill it out and bring it forward with you during the last hymn of the worship service. The pastor stands at the front waiting to greet you.
We hope you will make St. Matthew's your church home!
